Barry Crosthwaite’s passion for photography and travel began in childhood, inspired by the vivid imagery of National Geographic. During his university years, working with black and white film and later Kodachrome 64, his visual language took shape, a color palette that continues to define his work today. After college, a formative year traveling through Europe and North Africa deepened his photographic vision. Although he chose a career in business and finance, it allowed him to travel extensively and continue developing his practice. Since retiring in 2021, Barry has devoted himself fully to photography, evolving from travel and sports into portrait, landscape, and street photography. His work is guided by a pursuit of balance, refining simplicity and reintroducing complexity just before it distracts from the story within the frame.
