Taking a Rest - Kollektion: Tansania

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Tucked into a worn alcove of an ochre-walled building somewhere in Tanzania, a figure lies stretched out on a concrete bench, bare feet extending into the frame as a pair of flip-flops rest quietly on the floor below. The rough earthen walls and rusted iron window grate cast warm amber tones throughout the scene, while soft diffused light lends the moment an unhurried stillness. This is street and social life stripped to its quietest truth — a stolen pause in the heat of the day, where silence feels earned. Photographer Kaido Haagen finds poetry in the overlooked, turning a simple act of rest into a meditation on calm and the unhurried rhythms of everyday Tanzanian life.
