Sean Davey is very well known in the world of coastal art photography. He is a former magazine photographer with more than 180 magazine covers published to his name mainly in the very demanding and competitive surf realm.
Sean built his name, producing and shooting exploratory surf trips for magazines to all corners of the globe and along the way, he has picked up a string of prestigious photography awards.

Sean has built a reputation for well executed coastal imagery with a very definite lean towards extraordinary light conditions, which he says is always the most important aspect of anything that he shoots.
He go’s very much out of his way to capture the best lighting, often getting up hours before most folks to ensure that he is positioned to capture those fleeting moments that only come with great dedication to the craft of photography. Inspired by such greats as Australia’s Max Dupain and American great; Pete Turner; Seans work often involves contrast and large blocks of color.

Many of Sean’s best pictures just happen along the way. That is to say that he didn’t necessarily set out to get a particular image, but by being in the right place at the right time.
