A row of vivid timber houses in blue, red, orange and grey lines the waterfront of Reitdiephaven in Groningen, their warm lights mirrored perfectly in the glassy canal below as twilight washes the sky in shades of lavender and rose. The stillness of the water transforms the scene into something almost surreal, doubling the saturated palette of this iconic Dutch waterside village into a seamless reflection. Photographer Michael Abid captures this fleeting moment between day and night with quiet precision, finding in the Netherlands a place where bold color and serene water exist in perfect balance.
Originally from Ukraine and based in Germany, Michael Abid became a professional photographer in 2013. He travels globally capturing striking cityscapes, landscapes and architecture. Using engineering precision, he beautifully transforms iconic locations through light.
