Tucked between the massive gnarled branches of an ancient tree in Tanzania, a leopard peers quietly outward, its spotted coat blending almost seamlessly into the rough dark bark. The enormous trunk dominates the frame, its textures and curves filling the image with a sense of raw natural power while the pale savanna light glows softly in the gaps between the branches. There is something deeply still and joyful about this moment, a hidden creature resting in plain sight within the vast Tanzanian landscape. Photographer Kaido Haagen captures nature with patient precision, finding the extraordinary in the perfectly camouflaged and the overlooked.
Originally from Estonia, Kaido Haagen is a photographer with over 30 years of experience. He travels globally capturing architecture, travel landscapes and the underwater world. Featured in major exhibitions and books, his award-winning work stands out for its clarity and mastery of light.
