Urban Tokyo

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

A teal taxi cuts through the narrow backstreets of Sendai, Japan, its headlights glowing against the cool dusk light as lanterns and neon signage spill warm color across the wet asphalt. The street hums with quiet urban energy, layers of kanji billboards, overhead cables and restaurant facades building a scene that feels both deeply local and cinematically alive. Pepijn Thijsse captures the restless pulse of Japanese city life with a street photographer's instinct for the perfect moment — where motion, light and architecture converge into something effortlessly compelling.

Based in Australia, Pepijn Thijsse is an award-winning, self-taught photographer capturing fine art street scenes, architecture and nature. His work focuses on unique perspectives and human behavior, often wandering into backstreets to discover overlooked details.
