Vibrant Lanterns - Kollektion: Vietnam

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

Strung along a simple cord against a weathered grey wall, these brilliantly patterned fabric lanterns burst with the vivid colors and intricate textile traditions of Vietnam. Each hourglass-shaped lantern glows in rich shades of red, green, orange and teal, its embroidered surface catching the warm light and filling the frame with joyful, layered detail. The composition draws the eye across the dangling clusters, celebrating the craftsmanship and cultural heritage woven into every fold and pattern. Photographer Pepijn Thijsse finds beauty in the everyday festive moments of Vietnamese culture, transforming a simple street display into a vibrant testament to color, tradition and craft.

Based in Australia, Pepijn Thijsse is an award-winning, self-taught photographer capturing fine art street scenes, architecture and nature. His work focuses on unique perspectives and human behavior, often wandering into backstreets to discover overlooked details.
