Zebra Abstract

A Look measures 11 × 11 × 2.2 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a soft silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 12.6 × 12.6 × 2.2 cm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

The rear view of a zebra becomes an abstract study in black and white, with bold stripes curving around the tail. Without background or horizon the image turns into pure graphic form, softened by the texture of the short fur. Photographer Thijs Friederich found this unexpected angle in Tanzania, showing how nature creates designs that rival any work of art.

Based in the Netherlands, Thijs Friederich is a landscape photographer capturing epic scenes through wide-angle, macro and drone photography. Focusing close to home and during international travel, he uses color and perfect timing to transform natural landscapes with dramatic light.
