Two whitewashed chimneys rise from a sun-drenched rooftop on the Greek island of Anafi, their smooth curves and flat stone caps standing in quiet contrast against the deep cobalt blue of the Aegean Sea and sky. A single drifting cloud hovers above while a distant island silhouette rests softly on the horizon, lending the scene an almost meditative calm and silence. The composition is stripped back to its essentials — white, blue and light — capturing the soul of Greek island architecture with effortless clarity. Photographer Giannis Giannelos brings an intimate and unhurried eye to the everyday beauty of Greece, finding poetry in the simplest forms.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
