Cappadocian Silhouettes

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

Against a glowing amber sky, the ancient fairy chimneys of Cappadocia rise in dramatic silhouette, their mushroom-capped forms casting striking shapes across the warm golden horizon at sunset. The landscape of central Turkey feels both primordial and serene, with scattered vegetation and layered rock formations dissolving into deep shadow beneath a luminous canopy of fading light. Calm and silence pervade every corner of this frame, drawing the eye across a composition that feels as timeless as the volcanic terrain itself. Photographer Barry Crosthwaite captures the soul of this extraordinary region with quiet mastery, finding poetry in shadow and light where ancient stone meets an endlessly burning sky.

Inspired by National Geographic, Barry Crosthwaite developed a lifelong passion for travel and photography. Following a business career, he turned full-time in 2021, capturing portraits, landscapes and street scenes guided by a pursuit of balance.
