From high above the Andaman Sea this breathtaking aerial view reveals the dramatic limestone karsts of Maya Bay encircling a sheltered lagoon of vivid turquoise water on Koh Phi Phi Leh in southern Thailand. Lush green cliffs cascade down to a crescent of white sand while speedboats trace white ribbons across the deep cobalt blue surrounding the island in quiet motion. The calm clear light and rich natural palette create a sense of peaceful wonder that only an elevated perspective can offer. Photographer Barry Crosthwaite captures the majestic stillness of this iconic Thai landscape with an eye for color and scale that transforms a familiar scene into something truly timeless.
Inspired by National Geographic, Barry Crosthwaite developed a lifelong passion for travel and photography. Following a business career, he turned full-time in 2021, capturing portraits, landscapes and street scenes guided by a pursuit of balance.
