Old Hill Street

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

A rainbow of window frames stretches across the grand colonial facade of the Old Hill Street Police Station in Singapore, where shades of cobalt blue, emerald green, golden yellow, burnt orange and vivid red create a stunning chromatic gradient against the building's crisp white neoclassical architecture. The symmetrical composition is perfectly frontal, giving the building an almost grid-like graphic quality while a solitary figure in red crosses the street below, offering a sense of human scale against the monumental structure. The overcast light softens the scene just enough to let the saturated colors sing without competition, filling the image with pure urban joy. Photographer Alexander Riek brings a sharp architectural eye to Singapore's streets, transforming a historic landmark into a celebration of color, order and playful civic identity.

Based in Germany, Alexander Riek is a photographer and animal scientist who travels globally. He captures the unique stories of destinations worldwide, focusing primarily on landscapes, architecture and wildlife.
