A loose pile of wrinkled scotch bonnets spills into the corner, adding a spontaneous burst of texture and color to an already rich and joyful scene. The overhead perspective draws out the natural beauty of this everyday moment, turning a market display into something close to folk art. Photographer Kaido Haagen finds poetry in the ordinary, capturing the culture and traditions of Tanzanian life with an eye for color and a deep respect for the rhythms of the people who live it.
Originally from Estonia, Kaido Haagen is a photographer with over 30 years of experience. He travels globally capturing architecture, travel landscapes and the underwater world. Featured in major exhibitions and books, his award-winning work stands out for its clarity and mastery of light.
