A lone bird glides across the still waters of De Poel, leaving a single delicate ripple in its wake as a veiled morning sun bathes the Dutch landscape in deep amber and gold. Mist rolls in from the treeline, softening the horizon and turning this quiet corner of the Netherlands into something between a dream and a painting. The interplay of warm reflected light and shadowed fog creates a scene of rare mystery and contrast, where silence feels almost visible. Photographer Thijs Friederich captures nature at its most intimate, finding poetry in stillness and revealing the hidden magic of the Dutch countryside one fleeting moment at a time.
Based in the Netherlands, Thijs Friederich is a landscape photographer capturing epic scenes through wide-angle, macro and drone photography. Focusing close to home and during international travel, he uses color and perfect timing to transform natural landscapes with dramatic light.
