Layers of blue mountain silhouettes recede into the golden haze of early morning as the still waters of Lake Lugano reflect the warm amber sky above. The calm and silence of the Swiss Alps at sunrise create a sense of profound stillness, with each ridge fading softly into the next like brushstrokes of mist and light. Photographer Barry Crosthwaite captures the quiet majesty of Switzerland's lake district with a painter's eye, finding in this fleeting moment a landscape both ancient and utterly at peace.
Inspired by National Geographic, Barry Crosthwaite developed a lifelong passion for travel and photography. Following a business career, he turned full-time in 2021, capturing portraits, landscapes and street scenes guided by a pursuit of balance.
