Hundreds of ancient temple spires pierce through layers of morning mist across the plains of Bagan, their dark silhouettes stretching endlessly into the haze as a blazing sun rises against a deep orange sky. The interplay of warm golden light and cool shadow creates a scene of quiet mystery and stillness, with the architecture of Myanmar emerging like ghosts from another age. Layers of depth draw the eye from foreground stupas back through the fog toward the horizon, where temple after temple dissolves into the amber glow. Photographer Scott Stulberg captures the sacred silence of this ancient landscape with a masterful sense of atmosphere, revealing Myanmar not just as a place but as a feeling suspended in time.
