Bathed in warm golden light against a brooding twilight sky, the ancient Propylaea gateway of the Acropolis commands the foreground while the illuminated Parthenon rises majestically behind it, the sprawling city of Athens stretching into the distance below. The dramatic contrast between the glowing limestone columns and the deep storm-laden clouds above gives the scene an atmosphere of mystery and timeless power. Photographer Giannis Giannelos captures the architectural grandeur of Greece with a masterful eye for light and mood, revealing the Acropolis not merely as a ruin but as a living monument still holding dominion over the city it has watched over for millennia.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
