The wreck lies just off the coast near Wierum in the Wadden Sea. With my camera on my back, I walked across the tidal flats at low tide to reach it. Carefully calculating when low tide and sunset would coincide, I then made my way through the mud towards the wreck. I love the entire adventure surrounding the making of a photograph as much as the image itself.
