A lone rower glides silently across a glassy canal in the Netherlands as morning mist wraps the scene in soft amber and rose light. A towering Dutch windmill looms through the fog in the background, its reflection shimmering on the still water alongside bare winter trees and reeds that frame the foreground. The atmosphere is one of profound calm and silence, where the quiet rhythm of the oars and the ancient presence of the mill seem to exist outside of time. Photographer Thijs Friederich captures the Netherlands landscape with a poetic stillness, finding in its misty waterways a world both deeply familiar and quietly extraordinary.
