Moored along the waterfront of Venice, a row of gondolas bob and sway in the evening tide, their graceful prows caught in fluid motion by a long exposure that transforms them into ghostly streaks of dark wood and light. Deep blues saturate the sky and water while the illuminated campanile and domed church of San Giorgio Maggiore glow warmly across the lagoon, grounding the scene in the unmistakable atmosphere of Italian culture and tradition. Photographer Scott Stulberg captures Venice after dark with a kinetic energy that feels alive, turning a familiar icon into something restless and poetic.
