Glowing street lamps cast warm amber light across the quiet tram tracks and ornate historic facades of Halle, Germany as stormy clouds gather low over the old city skyline. The empty cobblestone street stretches into the distance framed by grand 19th-century architecture, its windows lit from within against the deep blue dusk. A sense of calm and silence settles over the scene, where the drama of the sky above contrasts beautifully with the stillness of the urban streets below. Photographer Alexander Riek captures the soul of German city life with a painter's eye for light and atmosphere, transforming an ordinary evening into something quietly extraordinary.
