Handafgewerkt in ons Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

A man pushes his bicycle up one of Lisbon's steep cobblestone streets, the tram rails cutting through the foreground as ancient facades and tangled overhead wires frame the narrow climb. Shot in black and white, the image captures the raw energy and motion of everyday life in Portugal — the effort in his posture telling a quietly powerful story about the rhythms of this hilly city. The low camera angle transforms a simple urban moment into something cinematic, turning street and social life into a study of determination against a backdrop of timeworn architecture. Photographer Pepijn Thijsse has a gift for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, revealing Portugal not through its postcard beauty but through the honest, human pulse that runs beneath it.
