As dusk settles over the Grand Canal in Venice, gondoliers glide through violet-tinged water with the magnificent domes of Santa Maria della Salute rising behind them in the fading light. A warm street lamp casts a golden glow against the cool blue hour sky, anchoring the scene between the old wooden mooring poles that line the canal. The energy and motion of daily Venetian life plays out in this fleeting moment where tradition and twilight meet on the water. Photographer Beniamino Pisati captures Italy at its most atmospheric, finding poetry in the quiet rhythm of a city that has always moved to its own unhurried tide.
Based in Italy, Beniamino Pisati is an award-winning freelance photographer specializing in geographic reportage. A two-time Travel Photographer of the Year winner, he documents the relationship between humans and nature globally while leading international workshops to share his poetic vision.
