From high above the Aegean, this aerial view captures a solitary lighthouse standing its ground on a jagged rock formation as churning turquoise waves crash and swirl in every direction around it. The deep teal of the Greek sea surges with raw energy and motion, white foam fracturing across the dark stone in patterns that feel both violent and mesmerizing. Photographer Giannis Giannelos frames this remote guardian off the coast of Andros with quiet reverence, finding in its isolation a powerful symbol of resilience against the relentless force of nature.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
