Le Gouffre

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

Nestled between ancient granite boulders along the rugged coastline of France, a solitary stone house glows with warm amber light as dusk settles over the landscape. The still water in the foreground mirrors the dramatic scene above, where brooding storm clouds part just enough to reveal a soft blush of fading sky. A profound calm hangs over the image, the kind of silence that makes the world feel vast and unhurried. Photographer Alexander Riek captures this hidden corner of France with quiet reverence, finding in its wildness and stillness a landscape that feels both timeless and deeply intimate.

Based in Germany, Alexander Riek is a photographer and animal scientist who travels globally. He captures the unique stories of destinations worldwide, focusing primarily on landscapes, architecture and wildlife.
