Montmartre

A Look measures 11 × 11 × 2.2 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a soft silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 12.6 × 12.6 × 2.2 cm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

Warm golden light spills from the awnings of Le Consulat and La Bonne Franquette as a handful of evening guests settle into the cobblestone square, their laughter softened by the brooding storm clouds gathering above the rooftops of Montmartre. The vivid reds and greens of the café fronts glow against the cool blue dusk, creating a street scene that feels both wonderfully alive and steeped in Parisian history. This corner of France captures the joy and color of its social life with an almost cinematic intensity, where every lamppost and wet cobblestone adds to the mood. Photographer Alexander Riek brings an eye for the magical hour between daylight and darkness, finding in this iconic neighborhood a warmth that feels like an open invitation to sit down and stay a while.

Based in Germany, Alexander Riek is a photographer and animal scientist who travels globally. He captures the unique stories of destinations worldwide, focusing primarily on landscapes, architecture and wildlife.
