A weathered rowboat rests quietly on a glassy forest pond, its dark hull perfectly mirrored in the still water beneath a canopy of green and golden autumn leaves. Soft diffused light filters through the trees at Thijssepark in the Netherlands, wrapping the scene in a dreamlike haze that blurs the line between reflection and reality. The lush bankside grasses and moss-covered roots complete a composition of pure stillness, where nature seems to hold its breath. Photographer Thijs Friederich captures this fleeting calm with a gentle and intimate eye, finding poetry in the quiet corners of the Dutch landscape.
Based in the Netherlands, Thijs Friederich is a landscape photographer capturing epic scenes through wide-angle, macro and drone photography. Focusing close to home and during international travel, he uses color and perfect timing to transform natural landscapes with dramatic light.
