At dusk the charming canal district of Colmar in Alsace, France glows beneath a violet and rose-washed sky, its colourful half-timbered houses reflected perfectly in the still dark water below. Flower-draped railings line the cobbled quayside as warm lantern light flickers across the scene and a crescent moon hangs quietly above the rooftops. Photographer Michael Abid captures this magical twilight hour with a sense of stillness and wonder, transforming one of France's most enchanting old towns into something almost dreamlike.
Originally from Ukraine and based in Germany, Michael Abid became a professional photographer in 2013. He travels globally capturing striking cityscapes, landscapes and architecture. Using engineering precision, he beautifully transforms iconic locations through light.
