Pakgil

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

A turbulent glacial river surges through the moss-draped canyon of Pakgil in Iceland, its milky turquoise waters cascading over dark volcanic rocks in silky long-exposure motion. Towering spires of basalt rise dramatically in the background, draped in vivid green moss beneath a heavy brooding sky that charges the entire scene with raw elemental energy. The contrast between the soft rushing water and the ancient jagged rock formations gives this Icelandic landscape an almost mythical intensity. Photographer Alexander Riek captures the untamed power of Iceland's wilderness with a commanding eye for depth and motion, drawing the viewer deep into a world where nature feels both violent and breathtakingly alive.

Based in Germany, Alexander Riek is a photographer and animal scientist who travels globally. He captures the unique stories of destinations worldwide, focusing primarily on landscapes, architecture and wildlife.
