At sunrise, the ancient stone arches of the Sint Servaas Bridge stretch across the glassy Maas river in Maastricht, their reflections perfectly mirrored in the still water below. Warm amber and soft violet hues wash across the sky as a church spire rises above the quiet rooftops of the city's west bank, the whole scene bathed in a calm and serene morning light.
