Golden light pours through the arched bridges of Amsterdam's iconic canals, casting warm reflections across the glassy water as the city's characteristic canal houses line the banks beneath a sweeping blue sky. The still surface mirrors both the elegant facades and the soft morning clouds, creating a perfectly symmetrical world where architecture and reflection become one. This is the Netherlands at its most luminous — quiet, composed and bathed in the gentle glow of a sunny morning. Photographer Michael Abid captures Amsterdam with a painter's eye, finding in its reflections a city that is at once deeply familiar and endlessly captivating.
Originally from Ukraine and based in Germany, Michael Abid became a professional photographer in 2013. He travels globally capturing striking cityscapes, landscapes and architecture. Using engineering precision, he beautifully transforms iconic locations through light.
