As the sun dips below the horizon, the ancient waterfront of Rovinj glows in warm amber and rose, its centuries-old facades reflected in the calm Adriatic waters below. The iconic bell tower of St. Euphemia's Basilica rises above a tightly packed hillside of terracotta rooftops, cypress trees and stone buildings bathed in the last golden light of day. Birds drift lazily through a dramatic sky where deep blue meets swirling clouds of orange and gold, lending the Croatian coastal town an almost painterly quality. Photographer Michael Abid captures Rovinj at its most magical hour, transforming this Istrian gem into a timeless scene of light, color and quiet Mediterranean wonder.
Originally from Ukraine and based in Germany, Michael Abid became a professional photographer in 2013. He travels globally capturing striking cityscapes, landscapes and architecture. Using engineering precision, he beautifully transforms iconic locations through light.
