Alte Tankstelle

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

A vintage German petrol station glows warmly against the cool grey of a quiet urban night, its oval glass kiosk lit from within and flanked by two softly burning street lamps. The Michelin Man stands triumphantly on the rooftop while retro signs for Coca-Cola and classic automotive services add splashes of red and blue to the scene. This lovingly preserved slice of mid-century Germany captures a joyful nostalgia, where color and light breathe life into an architectural relic frozen in time. Photographer Alexander Riek finds poetry in the overlooked corners of Germany's urban landscape, transforming a forgotten roadside stop into a glowing stage set worthy of a dream.

Based in Germany, Alexander Riek is a photographer and animal scientist who travels globally. He captures the unique stories of destinations worldwide, focusing primarily on landscapes, architecture and wildlife.
