At dusk the historic rooftops of Corfu Town glow in warm amber and terracotta, as the elegant colonnaded arcade of the Liston stretches along the Esplanade and its lanterns begin to flicker to life beneath a sky brushed in violet and rose. The old town's layered Venetian architecture fans out toward the shimmering Ionian Sea, with distant mountains fading into the soft twilight haze. Joy and color saturate every corner of this Greek urban landscape, from the ochre and rust facades to the lively square below where evening strollers cast long shadows across the stone. Photographer Giannis Giannelos captures Corfu with an intimate warmth, finding in its fading light the golden soul of Greece itself.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
