Ancient dry-stone walls glow amber in the last light of day, rising above a sea of wild purple heather that carpets the rugged Greek coastline in every direction. The drama of the twilight sky — shifting from deep cobalt to soft violet — mirrors the blooming landscape below, creating a scene of extraordinary color and quiet joy. This is Greece as few imagine it: raw, textured and alive with the kind of beauty that belongs to forgotten hilltops and windswept shores. Photographer Giannis Giannelos finds poetry in the layered history of his homeland, capturing landscapes where ancient stone and wild nature speak the same language.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
