The Marble Muse

The Look measures 12.6 x 12.6 cm and can be hung on the wall or stood up.

It is a photograph behind 3 mm clear acrylic on an MDF block of 110 x 110 x 22 mm. The country is engraved on the side; the photographer, the title and the country are on the back.

The Wrapp is a 0.8 mm silicone frame that clicks around it. Together, a Wrapped Look measures 126 x 126 x 25 mm.

Hand-finished in our Foto Lab in Amstelveen.

A headless marble figure draped in flowing robes stands against a smooth column in a colonnaded gallery, its weathered stone surface catching soft diffused light that brings out every carved fold and ancient texture. The warm neutral tones of the sculpture contrast gently with the receding row of white columns behind it, creating a sense of calm silence that feels both timeless and deeply rooted in Greek culture and tradition. Holding what appears to be a vessel at its side, the fragmentary statue carries an quiet dignity that speaks to centuries of history preserved in stone. Photographer Giannis Giannelos frames this encounter with Greece's ancient world with a stillness and reverence that transforms a museum artifact into a living presence.

Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
