Rows of fresh octopus hang from a line along the Greek coast, their tentacles draped downward and held in place by a cheerful scatter of colorful plastic clips in red, yellow, blue and black. The close composition reveals every sucker and curve in vivid detail, bathed in bright Mediterranean light that brings warmth and a sense of lively everyday tradition to the scene. This is Greece as locals know it — unpretentious, sun-soaked and full of character, where the drying of seafood is as much a cultural ritual as it is a way of life. Photographer Kaido Haagen finds poetry in the ordinary, turning a simple fishing custom into a celebration of color, texture and the honest rhythms of the sea.
