A centuries-old stone house clings to the hillside of the Pelion peninsula, its weathered facade draped in climbing ivy and framed by trees blazing with autumn gold. A cobbled path winds along the slope in the foreground, guiding the eye through layers of lush green grass, rustic wooden railings and the warm amber glow of the surrounding woodland under a moody, cloud-streaked sky. The scene carries a deep calm and silence that feels native to rural Greece, where time seems to settle as gently as the soft diffused light across these ancient walls. Photographer Giannis Giannelos captures the soul of traditional Greek architecture with a quiet reverence, finding beauty in stone, moss and the unhurried pace of a landscape that has changed very little over the centuries.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
