Copper-green domes and baroque bell towers rise above the layered rooftops of Prague in this hushed twilight composition, where a cool violet sky wraps the city in quiet stillness. The ornate clock tower of St. Nicholas Church anchors the scene, its gilded star finials catching the last ambient glow as stone spires and weathered slate roofs fill every plane of the frame. This intimate portrait of Czech Republic architecture captures the city mid-breath, suspended between day and night in a mood of rare calm and silence. Photographer Tom Stahl finds poetry in the vertical city, drawing the eye upward through centuries of history with a painter's instinct for light and depth.
Based in San Francisco, Tom Stahl is an internationally exhibited landscape and travel photographer. Having explored over 60 countries, he left engineering to capture the world, blending technical precision with dreamlike compositions. He is also the author of Traveling Light.
