I traveled to the small town of Wase in Yunnan Province, to visit the scenic island temple of Putao. There were several men offering rowboat rides out to the temple. I got in with one of them and offered him a cigarette. As we rowed out, he was kind enough to paddle around until I found just the right angle to shoot the temple over his shoulder.
