A young Buddhist monk draped in vivid red robes walks barefoot through a long covered corridor, his traditional parasol held high against the warm golden light that streams through the colonnaded walls of a Myanmar temple. The rhythmic shadows cast across the stone floor and the tunnel-like perspective draw the eye deep into the frame, creating a quiet sense of mystery and solitude. Scott Stulberg captures the street and spiritual life of Myanmar with an instinctive feel for color and contrast, finding poetry in a single figure moving through ancient architecture.
