A pale winter sun burns through a veil of mist over the flat Dutch polder landscape, casting a warm amber glow across frost-covered fields and the distant silhouette of a church steeple. The frozen ground stretches wide and silent in the foreground while bare trees and a sleeping village emerge like ghosts on the horizon, perfectly still beneath the hazy light. Every element of this Dutch winter scene breathes calm and silence, from the quiet gate posts to the soft rays filtering through the overcast sky. Photographer Thijs Friederich captures the understated soul of the Netherlands with a patient eye, finding poetry in the wide open spaces and the muted beauty of a landscape held in winter's gentle grip.

Thijs Friederich is een in Nederland gevestigde landschapsfotograaf die indrukwekkende scènes vastlegt via groothoek-, macro- en dronefotografie.
