Layered white and ochre cliffs rise from impossibly turquoise waters at Kleftiko, one of the most dramatic coastal landscapes Greece has to offer, where sea-carved arches and solitary rock stacks punctuate the calm Aegean beneath a brooding overcast sky. The aerial perspective reveals the full geometry of the scene, from the sheltered coves glowing with shallow aquamarine light to the rugged hillsides rolling quietly into the distance. A mood of deep calm and silence pervades the image, as though time has paused between the ancient rock and the restless sea. Photographer Giannis Giannelos captures Greece not as a postcard but as a living geological wonder, raw and luminous all at once.
Born in Athens, Greece, Giannis Giannelos became a professional photographer at 18. Having published dozens of photo books spanning cultural heritage and advertising, his true passion remains capturing architecture, geometry and the emotional freedom of nature.
